ANBI data

The nunnery “BUDDA DHITA BURMESE THERAVADHA BUDDHIST NUNNERY” in the Netherlands has applied to the Tax Authorities for recognition as a Public Benefit Organization (ANBI).
Openness and transparency

Anyone who donates to an ANBI may deduct the amount from their income tax. An ANBI that receives donations, legacies or inheritances is exempt from gift and inheritance tax. In order to be able to use the benefits, a publication obligation applies. This publication obligation fits in with the openness that can be expected from an organization such as the Nonnenklooster and is in line with the wish of donors to be informed openly and transparently about the management, income and expenditure of the Nonnenklooster.
ANBI publication obligation
As soon as the ANBI status has been granted, the publication obligation must be met. This publication obligation means that a number of data must be published on a website, so that interested parties can easily consult this data. In accordance with the ANBI policy plan of the Nonnenklooster.
In short, this concerns the following data;
1. Name of the Nonnenklooster (as stated in the Chamber of Commerce)
2. RSIN number (tax number, as assigned by the Tax Authorities)
3. Contact details (postal, email, visiting address, telephone number and the countries in which the organisation is active)
4. Composition of the board. Only the functions of the board members are included. The names and addresses of board members are not mentioned.
5. Objective/vision.
6. Policy plan. This can also be found on the website of the Nunnery)
7. Remuneration policy.
8. Annual report of the activities carried out (in broad outline). A general description of the activities is sufficient. Specific information can be found on the website of the Nunnery.
9. Intended expenditures with an explanation thereof. These can be found in the policy plan.
10. Financial accountability (summary and abbreviated statement of income and expenditure). This does not yet apply for 2025, because formally the Nunnery will only start its activities on August 1.
